Characters

writing blog ao3 the keep

A handful of original characters, some I borrowed from their storylines to play in various videogames, some introduced themselves within those games. Collected here since Tumblr has eaten my code.

Adriig Varcele Oblivion

Adriig Varcele was somewhat known during his lifetime as a swordfighting tutor in the Nibenay Valley during the Fourth Era; his more dubious claim to fame was as the "Hero of Kvatch", one of multiple candidates for the title. He originally hailed from farmland outside of Narsis, where he grew up herding guar.

Aidan Hawke Dragon Age II

Infamous across much of southern Thedas thanks to her bloody dealings with the Kirkwall Order of Templars, her staunch support of the mages' revolt, and the bestselling biography about all of it, Aidan's status as a celebrity wanted dead or alive by the Chantry hounded her out of the Marches, where she travelled with an old friend, Fenris, putting her fighting skills to good use at his side.

Galenariel gro-Ugrush Erthor Oblivion

Despite his checkered history with the Mages' Guild, Galenariel Zulgorgroth gro-Ugrush was part of the last years of its prosperity before its dissolution. Most of his spellwork and legacy was focused on alchemy, though he was also a dab hand at alteration magics and illusion. That he left behind an authoritative treatise on necromancy is an unproven rumor, popular for some years within the Synod and the College of Whispers. He was the brother of famed High Rock bladesmith, Agrak gra-Ugrush, and hailed originally from Dunlain Falls, though he spent most of his life travelling east of High Rock.

Jacky of Gael Noel Lykaon The Northern Passage

A werewolf and a professional disturber of the peace.

Jamie Hawke Sebastian Vael Dragon Age II

Despite his involvement in the Kirkwall Rebellion, Jamie Hawke is best known for the numerous clinics he and his sister founded in Kirkwall and sister cities, as well as the library and community garden in Starkhaven, named in honor of his late father. His connection to the Red Jennies, established by his mysterious cousin, persisted for years after he left Kirkwall; whether or not the rumor ever held water is up for debate.

Julien Pelletier Woolsey Dragon Age: Awakening

An ex-Crow, formerly of House Valisti. Born in Rialto.

Kit of Haminan Josephine Montilyet Dragon Age: Inquisition

In mercenary circles, Kit and his acquaintances have always been regarded as highly competent eccentrics; his management of the Inquisition fell under similar lines, to the chagrin of attendant nobles and much of the Inquisition's leadership. He saw the Inquisition's political power as a necessary evil, and leveraged it to the hilt to stymie the Elder One's war. Before the Inquisiton waned in power, he allied it with Briala of Halamshiral and Taven to create land holdings in Orlais.

Ku-Vakka Skyrim

An ex-Crow, formerly of House Valisti. Born in Rialto.

Liathari Surana Alistair Theirin Dragon Age: Origins

Widely known across Ferelden and the southern Marches for her heroism in the Fifth Blight and Amaranthine, Warden-Commander Surana is a proud member of Clan Surana, reunited with her family after years in the Circle, and spearheading the rehabilitation of the Grey Wardens' gryphons.

Loria Skyrim

After her apprentice succeeded her as the clan's chief spellcaster, Loria followed her divinations up to Skyrim. She is a practitioner of the Falmer form of auramancy, and hails from Gloomreach.

Loveday Wyll Ravengard Baldur's Gate

A wanderer and sometime knight-errant.

Malcolm "Mal" Hawke II Merrill Dragon Age II

A wanderer and sometime knight-errant.

Meliora Kana Rua Pillars of Eternity

An actress, quite famous in her hometown, hoping to study a different form of theatre. Aspiring master of stage-fighting. Hobbyist painter. Has a persistent streak of strange luck.

Mikal Glavonak Dragon Age

Feared by the Merchants' Guild and the Carta families of the Free Marches and much of Orlais, Mikal is known by many monikers as a friend to those in need, an adventurer up for strange challenges, a craftswoman and a bit of a historian. She took the mantle of Inquisitor with great reluctance, but used the opportunity to champion the causes of those who sorely needed it, restore peace at the Chantry's expense, and deftly maneuver thru Thedosian politics. Her recovery of several centuries of lost dwarven history in the Hissing Wastes put the cat among the pigeons in academic circles from Ayesleigh to Denerim.

Mistaleen "Misty" Brosca Leliana Dragon Age: Origins

Seven "Sev" Amell Niall Dragon Age: Origins

Sev Amell was one of many who fought at the Warden-Commander's side; they grew up together in the Circle, and kept in contact for years after the Blight. His work on offensive blood magic designed for use against the 'spawn was archived by the Wardens in the Anderfels.

Silvain Pillars of Eternity

A nature godlike, raised in the ruins of Eir Glanfath by the wilderfolk. Silvain spent most of her life as a ranger of the wood; one of her few brushes with society led to her flight north to the Gilded Vale.

Anthony "Tony" Shepard Steve Cortez Mass Effect

Earthborn, Sole Survivor, professional vanguard, occasional sniper. A vengeful N7 with a deathwish. Likes loud music and cooking for people. Bad at staying dead.

Tsona-Vos Skyrim

Description.

Varis Lladri Morrowind

An oathman of House Telvanni propelled to modest notoriety during the early years of the Fourth Era for her defense of Sorcerer Dratha, popularized in a series of sordid pulp novels. Ironically enough, she was, by her own personal account- and despite the contents of the series that bore her likeness- not particularly close with her employer. She originally hailed from Mournhold, but spent most of her life in Tel Mora.
